Western Maryland Freight Station

The Hanover Branch Railroad station (now, the Western Maryland Freight Station on Railroad St.) was the site of Abraham Lincoln's visit when passing through Hanover  on way to Gettysburg to commemorate the Nation Cemetery.

Lincoln stopped at the Hanover Branch Railroad Station  on the way to Gettysburg for the commemoration of the Gettysburg National Cemetery on Nov. 18, 1863. This plaque stands near the Western Maryland Freight Station above close to the sight of the visit.
