The building on West Walnut Street was built as a high School. It s thought at the time the Eichelberger building served grades 1 through 12. The new high school would server only grades 10, 11, and 12. Students attended high school at the yellow-brick building from 1916 through 1932. In that year, the high school was moved back to a refurbished and expanded Eichelberger Building. This school became a Junior High with grades 7, 8, and 9. In 1964, the building became and elementary school and was named West Walnut Street Elementary. The building is now used as apartments. The pictures below were taken in 2004. |
